Meet the Team

We’re a small but mighty team, working across education & learning experience, product & development, sales & marketing, logistics & customer support. Get in touch if you’d like to chat to us.

Dr Alexander (Sandy) Enoch

Founder & CEO

Sandy is Marty the Robot’s inventor. Sandy has a MEng in robotics from Heriot-Watt University, MSc in computational neuroscience and PhD in robotics from the University of Edinburgh, specialising in walking robots.

Myles Bax

Head of Business Development

Myles is responsible for building lasting relationships with Robotical’s partners and distributors across several continents and supporting them in their sales. Myles joined Robotical in 2016 and has represented the company around the world at trade shows from Kuala Lumpur to Kigali.

Finlay Page

Product & Production Lead

Since early 2017, Finlay has been Robotical’s product and production lead. With a focus on designing experiences, Finlay has taken Marty from an early-adopters product to a robust offering that suits the needs of educators.

Christine

Christine MacLeod

Office Manager

Christine keeps the entire team in check and takes care of accounts. She is responsible for the logistics function of the business, organising Robotical’s support centre and making sure all queries get to the right person for a speedy reply.

Ben Henderson-Palmer

Direct Sales Channel Lead

Ben looks after Robotical’s schools team and focuses on getting Marty into the hands of teachers. Ben has a wealth of experience in building start up sales processes from scratch, having previously worked with a number of SaaS startups and enjoys creating a graph or two!

Nat Ratner

Natalya Ratner

Head of Marketing

Nat joined the start-up world in 2020 and is responsible for aligning marketing strategy with business objectives, lead generation and growing the Robotical brand internationally. Her two kids, aged five and eight, might just be Marty’s biggest fans.

Michael Sinclair

Learning Experience Manager

Michael has been involved in Education for over 20 years. He has taught in primary and high schools and has worked with a range of learners facing challenges. At Robotical, Michael is responsible for creating educational resources to support learning outcomes and aligning the lessons to national curricula.

Siobhan Duncan

Lead Developer

Siobhan is working towards a PhD from the world-renowned Edinburgh Centre for Robotics. She is passionate about outreach and has spent a lot of time getting the next generation enthused about a career in robotics, with a focus on trying to encourage more young women into STEM.

Brano Pilnan

Software Engineer

Brano takes care of Marty’s software, hiding away the complexity that might otherwise keep learners from entering the exciting world of robotics! During his dissertation, Brano used Reinforcement Learning to help a dog-like robot learn how to run by itself.

Sophie Pell

Sophie Pell

Social Media & Content Executive

Sophie joined the team in 2021 and is responsible for increasing brand awareness and engagement by developing content for Robotical’s digital platforms; drafting posts, writing blogs and developing multimedia content. You might spot Marty and Sophie enjoying day trips together around Scotland!

Joe McDonald

Testing & Support Developer

Fresh out of his Masters, studying Software Development, and following a stint at a music studio, Joe takes care of everything on the support and testing side of the company. This involves testing all in-house developments and improvements to Marty, as well as helping our users get the best experience they can from their Marty.

Nikos Theodoropoulos

Software Developer

Nikos is responsible for the user-facing aspects of the website and mobile applications. Besides being a developer, Nikos has also a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh. He is looking for ways to combine his backgrounds and find integrated solutions to make Marty’s user interface more fun and appealing!

Rob van Dijk

CFO

Since 2018, Rob has assumed a part-time CFO role with Robotical, helping to steer financial forecasting and management, funding and investor liaison. Rob comes with +25 years’ experience in finance and accounting, previously a senior partner with KPMG in Latin America.
