Marketing & Content Manager role with Robotical.

Robotical brings learning alive with Marty the Robot, a walking, dancing, programmable robot that helps teach robotics and coding in a creative, hands-on way to children aged 4+.

The marketing team is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate marketing and content manager who’s ready for a new challenge and can bring their energy and ideas to Robotical. We’re embarking on a period of growth and there’s never been a better time to join the team and help us achieve our targets. You’ll achieve this by supporting on Robotical’s external and internal communications, on and offline, and supporting the business to grow brand awareness and lead generation across educators and EdTech distributors in the UK, USA and in our international markets.

Main objectives and responsibilities:

  1. Develop compelling digital and social media content that encourages engagement, brand awareness and consideration. You’ll be responsible for creating short and long-form content for our social media channels, blog, email campaigns, and 3rd party advertising, display and advertorial content. You’ll maintain the brand style guidelines and tone of voice, and explore exciting new formats and mediums for content, including rich media such as video and gifs. This will require polished copywriting, and some graphic design and video editing skills.
  2. Drive the conversation and engage with users across social media. Brand affinity and ambassadorship is a huge part of growing the Marty the Robot brand. You’ll be responsible for impactful, engaging online community management, nurturing relationships with our audience and prospective customers, and building a relationship with online influencers, advocates, key opinion leaders and online communities. From time to time, some community moderation may be required out of hours and on the weekends.
  3. Support on the management of marketing campaigns and initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to, the ongoing performance reporting and optimisation of digital campaigns; set up of new campaigns, including keyword research, content creation, geographic and behavioural audience research and targeting and regular testing. You’ll be able to tweak and improve the campaigns’ performance and articulate the reasoning behind the actions.
  4. Improve the evaluation of our output, conducting research and reporting on marketing activity across channels. Using analytics tools and techniques, you’ll be able to interpret data into actionable insights that would help set the strategic direction of the marketing activity and deliver a targeted programme of communications across our paid, owned and earned channels. This may require conducting research, customer insight gathering and user testing.
  5. Develop key internal and external relationships. You will act as an advisor to the SLT and provide detailed information based on research and analytics. You’ll have the ability to synthesise complicated information into accessible and actionable insights.You’ll develop relationships with various freelancers, influencers, agencies and suppliers, brief in project requirements and responsibilities and liaise regularly. You may need to help with providing content or graphics to support their needs.
  6. Act as a brand ambassador and champion and ensure integrity and reputation of the company. You will represent Robotical in professional settings with integrity and professionalism, maintaining our reputation with partners, industry colleagues, prospective and current investors and customers. The role may require travel to, and presence at, trade shows and events in the UK and internationally.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of building and managing social media or digital communities
  • Copywriting skills to ensure a quick turnaround with web content, social media requests and email campaigns when required
  • Video and image editing skills using software and programmes like Photoshop, Canva, InDesign etc
  • An understanding of SEO best practice
  • Experience of managing content planners for multi-platform campaigns
  • Experience with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics and Meta Insights
  • An ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously
  • Confident verbal and oral communicator
  • An interest in technology and willingness to learn how to use Marty the Robot when producing material

  • An interest for keeping up to date with latest industry trends and best practices in digital marketing would be an advantage, as is interest in robotics, programming and STEM
  • Any experience with programming languages (Scratch, Python etc) would be an advantage but don’t worry – Marty can teach you how to code!
