Educators
Teachers and educators around the world have already fallen in love with Marty and the resources we provide for easy, relevant and engaged learning.
Marty is a fully programmable and customisable robot, designed to bring learning in the classroom to life. Marty promotes problem solving and creative thinking, and helps deliver STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics) in an accessible, interactive and fun way.
We launched Marty the Robot in 2016, and ever since then we have been listening to you. We want to make sure our users always get the best version of Marty and launching Marty has taught us just as much as Marty has taught all our wonderful users. That’s why, in 2020, we introduced the world to Marty V2. This version of Marty is designed specifically for the classroom and can withstand even the most enthusiastic of handling. Marty V2 is robust and durable, and is rigorously tested and certified to ensure absolute safety.
We also made sure that Marty doesn’t just come on its own, which is why we are constantly developing and growing our library of learning and teaching materials. These resources include hours of comprehensive lesson plans with teacher guides, student workbooks and classroom-ready presentations. Created by education experts, these are all mapped to an ever-expanding set of curriculum standards and designed to achieve success criteria.
What’s more, every Marty Class Pack purchase also includes 1:1 professional training with an educational advisor, who’ll help you get set up with Marty and point you towards the learning resources most suited for you and your students. This means that even if you are new to computing, robotics and programming, you can confidently get up and running in no time.
Marty is an adaptable tool that can be used across elementary, secondary and even higher education. By sparking the excitement of your students and harnessing their infectious enthusiasm, Marty can support the promotion of STEAM learning and engagement at all ages.
For example, you can use our color cards for screen-free, or unplugged, programming to introduce learners as young as five to the concept of coding. From there, progress through the different stages and key concepts in block coding with MartyBlocks Jr (based on ScratchJr) and MartyBlocks (based on Scratch), and advance into text-based, real world programming language, Python.
Marty was developed to support learners’ progression and more experienced coders can continue their journey and engage Marty through advanced coding languages like ROS (Robot Operating System). Marty can also be connected to a Raspberry Pi or micro:bit.
