Educational Grants:

A collection of grants available for funding STEM projects in schools and coding clubs.

Awards for all ScotlandEnglandNorthern Ireland & Wales

Funding between £300 and £10,000 is provided to bring communities and people together, helping individuals reach their full potential, through support from the earliest possible stage.

 

BBC Children in Need – Small Grants

Grants are provided to projects that support children and young people under the age of 18, who are experiencing disadvantages.

 

Community Action Northumberland

Various funding amounts, ranging from £250 to £5,000, is provided to projects that support advancements in education and science. Applications are accepted from any organisation or school carrying out projects with a community benefit within the parishes of: Brinkburn & Hesleyhurst, Longhorsley, Netherwitton, Nunnykirk, Rothley & Hollinghill.

 

Digital Xtra Fund

Grants between £500 and £5,000 are provided to support young people in learning digital skills. This may be through high quality, exciting extracurricular activities or other projects with the ultimate goal of helping children pursue a career in digital technologies.

 

Education Endowment Fund

This grant aims to close the attainment gap by funding projects that raise the attainment of young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

 

Engineering Education Grant Scheme

This grant funds educational projects that increase engineering knowledge and skills among young people (aged 4-19). Applications are accepted from organisations or individuals who aim to inspire young people to study STEM subjects. Applications deadlines close on October 1.

 

Enhancing Professional Learning in STEM Grants Programme Round Three 

This grant is used to deliver STEM education and to ensure teachers are well equipped with the knowledge and skills required to deliver high quality STEM teaching. Applications are accepted from UK schools, from early learning all the way to secondary. Applications deadlines close in May.

 

Ford Britain Trust

Ford aims to improve communities and the lives of young people, through the funding of educational projects. All activities and projects demonstrating community improvements will be considered.

Gatwick Airport Community Trust

This scheme aims to support the community and young people and funds projects in East and West Sussex, Surrey and Kent (the areas most affected by Gatwick Airport operations).

Heathrow Community Fund – Communities for Youth

These grants aim to improve the lives of young people (aged up to 24 years old) by providing them with new skills and self-confidence.

 

Ironmongers’ Foundation: STEM Grants

This grant aims to increase the number of young people studying STEM-related subjects in school. There are three application deadline dates throughout the year: December 1, April 1 and August 1.

 

IT Engineering

These programs work with a wide variety of organisations to provide funding to support STEM projects that improve engineering skills of young people (aged 5 to 19).

 

John Lyons Charity

These grants support young people by improving their life chances through education. They support a wide range of projects and provide opportunities for young people to participate in a wide range of activities. Applications are accepted for projects in North-west London and are accepted throughout the year in March, June and November.

 

Primary Science Teacher Award (PSTA)

Know an outstanding primary teacher who deserves recognition? Every year, a number of primary science teachers are awarded the PSTA for their classroom achievements and are given many benefits including £1000 prize money.

 

Science and Technology Facilities Council

The STFC awards funds to projects covering a range of STEM topics. Ranging from nuclear physics to robotics.

 

The Wixamtree Trust Grant

This grant aims to support organisations and projects based in Bedfordshire.

 

The Wolfson Foundation: Special Schools and Colleges

Special schools may apply for funding of up to £75,000 for projects that allow pupils to develop their employability skills.
