Marty the Robot is a walking, dancing, talking, multilingual robot that’s full of character and helps introduce children to the world of coding and robotics in a fun and imaginative way. From screen-free coding to block-based programming and even Python, Marty is a flexible learning tool that grows with students. As the most affordable humanoid robot used in K-12 education, Marty’s design and functionality appeals to kids as young as five; the physical product is supported with extensive teaching resources that align to national and regional standards and is complemented by learning activities that enable Marty to be integrated with other areas of the curriculum. All of this makes Marty an exceptional ‘out-of-the-box’ STEM learning solution. 

Headquartered in Scotland UK, Robotical is the edtech company that created Marty in 2016 with the goals to provide engaging learning opportunities for young people, equip them with the skills they need for the future of work, and inspire them to change the world through technology.

Robotical is seeking a savvy sales and business development lead to steer the company’s commercial strategy. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own the sales targets for the business, set and achieve sales goals
  • Track and maintain sales performance on HubSpot for reporting to board
  • Nurture inbound leads and step prospective customers through the sales pipeline
  • Alongside BDRs, run the “Try before you buy” program in US and UK and support educators with their two-week trial of Marty
  • Collaborate with sales teams of Robotical’s distributors and resellers to close deals
  • Demonstrate the use of Marty as a learning resource for educators, including hardware, software, and curriculum materials at events, trade shows and school and district visits
  • Understand the learning objectives of educators and challenges of teaching coding, computer science, and robotics. Especially in elementary and middle school (K-8).
  • Navigate the purchase decision process between educators, school leadership, administrators, and procurement professionals
  • Potential for managing outbound prospecting solutions

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Three to six years of proven track record in sales or business development
  • Ability to understand the needs of educators and students, empathize with the challenges they face, and become a trusted advisor
  • Exceptional communication skills, including listening, speaking, writing, and presenting
  • Proficient with HubSpot (or similar CRM) and Google Workspace
  • Comfortable contacting and speaking with new people
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and keep a positive attitude
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks for highest impact and manage time effectively
  • Understanding of the K-12 education system, including teaching & learning, technology and procurement
  • Passionate about STEM education and making a difference in the lives of children
  • Willingness to travel for industry events
  • Ability to work from home and travel to HQ annually if based in USA
